Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) combines cognitive-behavioral therapies and medications to aid in the treatment of patients suffering from substance abuse. Studies have shown that people who go through opioid detoxification and treatment without the aid of maintenance drugs suffer a higher incidence of relapse. Our Florida addiction treatment center staff devise plans that include suboxone maintenance treatment, are designed to stabilize the drug-addicted person for further treatment and help them return to a more functional state.

Our drug addiction treatment medical team will carefully address all the unique issues that our clients are experiencing. For some clients, Suboxone Maintenance Treatment helps bridge the gap in many cases by eliminating withdrawal and cravings. In addition to stabilizing the patient, this allows him or her to begin working an effective therapeutic regimen.

Florida Suboxone Maintenance & Detox

Suboxone Maintenance has shown to be an effective tool for some patients to fight addiction. It can save lives from overdose due to unknown additives in the nebulous “powder” the patient is using (i.e. fentanyl, carfentanil), as well as the potency of street heroin.

Medication Assisted Treatment  is certainly not a “cure” for addiction and is not appropriate for all patients. The extent to which any doctor can help a patient with substance use disorders is limited by the medications which are currently approved by the FDA for this use. Buprenorphine (Suboxone), Naltrexone and Vivitrol products are what our physicians have to work with in saving lives. We always address a patient’s individual circumstances which requires a complete assessment by our highly trained and experienced physician to properly administer this treatment. An eligible client must participate in a full therapeutic  program that includes individual and group therapy with our licensed therapists.
