Drug & Alcohol Addiction Treatment Aftercare

It’s amazing to see the difference in someone who is leaving treatment and remembering who they were just 30-60 days prior. That’s one of the best parts of our job but, it always comes with a caution tale. While the transformation is wonderful to see it’s important to note that being discharged is simply commencement: a beginning. We can detox individuals, bring them back to life and provide them with the tools to succeed in life on its own terms, free of alcohol and drugs. However, that is where the real work begins and a solid aftercare plan becomes critical. For most, addiction did not happen overnight and proceeded for a long time. We cannot expect a few short months of treatment to undue all that damage. It is at this point where we work hard to utilize step-down programs like IOP, OP and sober living to gently acclimate our clients back into the hectic world. It is in these environments that clients can practice the tools we have given them with increasing independence to build the strongest foundations for their futures.

One of the things that is so easily tossed around in testimonials is “treatment center fantastic got me clean!”. The reality is we provide a safe, comfortable place to get clients medically well. Our caring and intuitive staff will guide you and arm you with individualized tools and coping mechanisms. This is where the real, long-term work begins. A strong aftercare plan that includes step-down therapy and sober living are the best bets. While this may not be entirely appealing to clients as they always want to get on with their lives, it provides the best possible next step in recovery and avoidance of relapse. Any house worth living in has a strong foundation. Why wouldn’t you want the same for the one and only life you live?
